£250k player

Sorry if this has been discussed already (pre-empts the flood of fixture/ Kanchelskis replies). But this coca-cola competition got me wondering, when was the last time we spent £250k or more on a player? Can't for the life of me think who it was.

it doesn't have to be a transfer fee... it can be wages or signing on fees etc...

which in our case would be much more likely.

Anyway, we are not going to win it, so why bother worrying about it.

Ever the optimist Titanic.
I was thinking A.Ritchie as well but that just seems too long ago..
And I thought Bob cost £100k, thats what the song says anyway :p

That was dependant on apperances. He ended up costing about £85,000 in the end I think.

The club should read out the text number and message before the game tomorrow nights for the Coke A Cola thing that would no doubt get us a few 1,000 more votes!

The first player we spent that much on was John Gregory in 1979.

But we got Chris May from that so you need to half that fee. ;)

And his brother.
