I doubt it and suspect the ground rules state very clearly if away fans are in home areas they will be ejected

Sorry to be a pedant but the Gallowgate is t'other end of ground from the Away fans. You were sat in the Home section of the Leazes Stand.
Common sense prevails in the 1901 areas; away supporters are allowed. I can understand the club being twitchy about allowing away fans in other areas but surely a group of adults and 4 kids all being discrete and behaving themselves in the family stand isn’t an issue? Either way, there’s a bigger picture is a group of knuckle heads being complete twats and abusing a family. I don’t want morons like this following my club.

Corporate areas are very obviously covered by different rules though - clearly a local business with a batch of tickets, is likely to extend hospitality to guests / contacts / clients that they know have affinity to the team playing the Albion on any given day - and are well within their rights to do so.
They are asked only that their guests avoid wearing colours (not that even Albion colours are permitted). Even the fact they are there in full accordance with the rules though, still doesn't stop some of the less refined 1901 members occasionally having a pop though.
I'm not casting any doubt on the version of events relayed the OP, but you are basing your judgement having heard just one side of the story, which will be biased, because we all are.
Corporate areas in pretty much every club allow opposing supporters, something that both you and I have taken advtantage of away from the Amex. It's not the same as the rest of the ground where there are clear ground regulations regarding this.
(Note: I'm not condoning abuse it it occurred as described)

Neither of us were there so we don't know how discrete people were being. But a quiet reminder that this was a "home end" if that;s how you see the family stand would likely have sufficed - if that was even necessary. The more important factor is that there are children around so shouting "Go on Brighton, kill them !" is unacceptable. People just need to be more tolerant.

I wouldn't disagree that the abuse was unacceptable, but if you've outted yourself to surrounding fans, you're obviously not being discrete!
And, yes, I DO see the family sections at The Amex as the home end! All of it.

Have not read all of thread but there are two Newcastle fans escorted out in wsu Saturday as well . On exiting one decided it would n funny to take his top off to reveal a Newcastle shirt . Not sure what they did in the first place to bring attention to themselves

On their forum they’ve talked for a while at finding it easy to get seats anywhere in the Amex, to see their certain title celebrations. So many, I would imagine that they’re going to show their faces with each City goal.
He was standing at the front of WSU on the phone with his shirt clearly visible, he was asked to leave by stewards. He then reappeared as the 2nd half kicked off, he was asked to leave again once he’d been identified and he thought it was clever to take his top off to show off his Newcastle shirt.
As others have said we’ve probably all gone in home end at some point for an away day, but I certainly wouldn’t wear a club shirt and give it large.

I’m with you on this and the OP. In the NS we’ve seen (in the last 2 seasons) regular Albion fans wrongly accused of being away fans, with threats and attempts to get to them. Normally when things aren’t going well on the pitch, which is very commonplace
. Always the same types starting the aggro .... thick as shit, smashed, loud and belligerent.

I sat with the cockneys at West Spam for a cup game many years ago because the away end sold out. Had to join their supporters club to buy a ticket and the nastards kept spamming my email for years...
