We don't have to name Crofts in the 25 at any point.

I now suspect Crofts is not registered as a player at all... yet. He has not played in any U23 games so far...

I seem to recall that Potter is able to and enjoys working with a small squad. I’m sure we’ll see more players (other than March) regularly covering more than one position.

Headaches when Izzy & Biss are back.

On the money that they are paid they should be able to play in all but CB positions and all should be able to pass, cross and shoot on target with both feet. I think it is key for players to learn different roles all over the pitch so that they understand what to expect of others and themselves.

Why does Burn only appear in the list of centre backs?

I don't particularly mind that we only have a 23 man squad nominated, as Connolly and Alzate are not named just by fate of birth date. We also have Băluţă and they all need to be paid.

My concern is the length of Alzate's contract - just this season and next.

With the wages saved on Andone, Locadia etc. surely we should offer him ( and Connolly ) bumper new deals. And since Connolly last signed one he has been elevated to 3rd pick striker - worthy of a pay rise !

Thing is the 23 includes Schelotto who I didn't think we'd ever see near an Albion squad again and, right now, includes two seemingly perma-injured players (maybe they're not, but I have no idea on the status of Bissouma and Izquierdo).

How many of our rivals only have 23 players in their squads? (And every PL squad will have youngsters on the fringe so we can push that aside as reasoning)

All true, maybe my lack of concern is misplaced. I could be wrong.

Bissouma is very close to return - I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a few minutes at Wimbledon tonight !
