Surely you can be an awful person who does a lot of charity work without also being Jimmy Savile?

Or did he corner the market in the "bad person, big charity fundraiser" world so much he now has exclusivity for all time?

In September 2018, Stokes was charged with bringing the game into disrepute by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) over the incident in Bristol and social media posts. In December 2018, the Cricket Disciplinary Commission announced that Stokes would be fined £30,000, after he pleaded guilty to the charges.

Ok Mr Pedant but he was cleared in a court of law. What the cricketing board choose to do is solely their choice.

It doesn't make him a nasty person, in fact, he went up in my estimation for standing up for the victims.

Similarly, my point was that Beefy has, over many years, been involved in a few minor (possibly) drink related incidents in the same vein as Stokes and many, many other famous sportsmen, but nothing near the Savile scale of 'nastiness'.

Using the "Stokes wasn't convicted" argument is also a bit disingenuous. There's a long thread on here explaining the nuances of that decision and how he's an incredibly lucky man to not be locked up right now. You're using a technicality to apply different moral standards to two different people because it fits with your argument.
