Chris has been sheer class for us since day one. It's rare to see anyone in football lauded so much by opposition fans and players, and also the media.

He seemed to generate huge amounts of loyalty amongst our players, and also the staff. I remember watching Liam Rosenior on TV for the WBA FA Cup replay speaking so positively about him, and what a great role model he was for himself, the other coaches, and the players. He is a man you would be proud to play for, and work for, and have as the boss of your club.

He is - quite simply - a brilliant football manager. He stopped the rot towards League One, before re-building us. After play off agony, he galvanised the players (no mean feat - how many clubs have we seen collapse after play off defeat?) for one of the best seasons in recent memory. And then he kept us up. And kept us up again. Never once in the bottom three this season. An unforgettable trip to Wembley.

I'm very sad to see him go. Our loss is someone else's gain. I hope Chris finds a club where he is valued and respected as he was here.

Chris will do fine and whoever gets him next is very lucky. He is also a very classy gent.

His time has come - it happens. I'm very thankful though. I expect him to get a huge ovation next time we come up against him

Thank you Chris. Some amazing memories of how you turned us into a superb championship side and then kept us up for two seasons. You should be very proud of what you achieved and all Brighton fans will always feel very warmly towards you. Would have loved to have given you a proper send off but will look forward to welcoming you to the Amex (hopefully in PL) and giving you a standing ovation. Your next club will be very lucky to have you.

Absolutely. I hope we do come up against his new team sometime. I became as frustrated as the next fan with the performances this season, but overall he's taken us to a brilliant position from where he started with us, all with humility and honesty. I'll really miss that side to him, i was so proud to have him as our manager.

Unfortunately football is harsh and I do feel the time was right, but the next manager will have huge shoes to fill.

The Championship club who hire him will be very lucky to have him and im certain he'll turn their fortunes around as he did us in the championship.

After the sh!t we've had to put up with over the years: The endless lows, and the highs that felt amazing but just seemed to make up for some of the embarrassments of relegation, thrashings, dwindling support, swindling boards, crappy home grounds, more successful rivals, useless players etc. Poyet and the Amex turned it all around, but Chris took us into fantasy land. Saved from further humiliation, then for two years we were Billy Big Balls in the Championship and now we compete with the gods of World football. When I go into schools in East London all the kids have an opinion of Brighton, instead of just assuming I said 'I support Bristol!' My daughters are 8 and 11, they hadn't recovered from Bruno's retirement and thought I was just mucking about when I told them about Chris. He made me proud to be a Brighton fan on more occasions than my previous 31 years put together. A Gent, a Socialist and an awesome human being. Thanks for the best 4 years of my life as a Brighton fanatic.

He on record as saying he has a soft spot for boro and that was after the play offs. I think he may possibly be friends with the owner. Pulis will probably go this week and I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a call.

Very sad to see him go.

Thank you Chris. Missing promotion by the narrowest margin in 2016 then bouncing back from that disappointment to win automatic promotion to the top division was an amazing achievement. Surviving for 2 seasons, albeit hanging on in the second season, and our first FA Cup semi final since 1983 were further fantastic achievements and will ensure you have a permanent place at the highest level in the history of our club. Doing all this with the grace and dignity you have shown is remarkable. I have been proud to have you as our manager and wish you and your family every success and happiness in the years ahead. Thank you Chris.

And those double fist pumps and outrageous antics on the sidelines will be sorely missed.
