A few posts before mine (by others) alluded, correctly, to plenty of fans not turning up at Amex in those final few months. Even NSC mod’s have owned to this, when they could’ve made matches.

Two crap purchases, certainly. Defoe was also an expensive flop. But you wouldn't trade much of our squad for theirs.

Er, no. I remember his goals against Doncaster, saving us from Palace doing the double over us, as well as many delightful runs down the wing, followed by goals or assists. And then, after he was injured, we sold him for a nice profit.

If all our signings worked out so well, we'd be comfortably in the top half of the PL.

Liechtenstein, San Marino and Vatican City are also currently untapped. There is also Gibraltar of course, managed by Jeff Wood, manager of the Albion for a very brief spell.

I agree with everything you have said, but we are all different and I prefer the PL over the Championship.

Hence the win at all costs and entertainment being secondary for me.

That said I will be pleased if we light up the division with great football and finish halfway or even avoid relegation by one place.

Whilst I agree we do ideally need another striker, centre midfield is still the area we most urgently need to strengthen.
