You just know that after all this talk of records, we're going to lose four wickets for a couple of runs this morning

Great to hear Jofra has been selected for the World Cup squad this morning
Yes - brilliant achievement by him and we can all be very proud of our Sussex lad. Hopefully he will be part of the winning team.

oh well

merely extraordinary it is then

Reading about the Sussex record this morning. Apparently, Billy Newham was only a part-time player by then - he was 41 - and was Sussex secretary. Ranji insisted that he played and the pair of them put on that total. It stood as a world record for more than 50 years.

Imagine cajoling a bit-time player to turn out: it would be a bit like getting Tony Cottey to put his pads on again :)

I bet when Northants had us at 68-6 they didn't think for a second that they'd end up with just the two bonus points (while we got the full 5)

Anyone know why Northants have got 12 players (according to the BBC)? I see that 11 have already been involved in the game - the only one who hasn't been mentioned is the captain, Wakely. Anyone know why?

Rumours in the ground that “things went on yesterday”
Radio said he’s in hospital with concussion after an accident at home
Make of all that what you will

Knocked himself out on a low beam at home. That's the story, anyway.

I see his stand-in is doing pretty well
