8 home games left, 7 very 'winnable' so no panic yet.

A 3rd choice specialist left back ( U23 ?) would be useful though.

I truly hope they have some up their sleeves because we bloody need them. Complacency from management down to the players has crept in and we could seriously be in trouble

So a kneejerk reaction is the answer is it? Sorry but l don't think that it is. Yes an awful performance last night by all accounts, (2nd half anyway, we seemed to do very well until half time), and perhaps we have had the odd stutter in the past few games, but overall l still believe we are on the right track. Bringing in someone as a panice measure is exactly the wrong thing to do in my opioion.

Jahanbaksh will be back from the Asia Cup soon, and hopefully it won't be long before Bernardo and Izquierdo are fit again. We will be ok.

I guess the plan might have been to get enough points on the table (including a win last night) and play some of them later when we are safe. I can't see them being played if we don't turn things around quickly.

Trouble is with every place in the table being worth more millions, will we ever have that mentality of 'we are safe so play the youngsters'?

Not so sure I agree that 7 are easily winnable. The next 2 of Watford and Burnley are bang in form now and neither will be easy. If we win these 2 I'll eat humble pie but I think we will do well to win 1 of these.

And not beating Huddersfield next month doesn't even bear thinking about.

Agreed. I would not be complacent enough to discount totally the possibility of relegation, but one bad performance/result (one bad 45 minutes in effect) does not a relegation battle make.

I do not understand the stick Bong is getting as IMHO he is a more than adequate cover for Bernardo but as usual people on here need a scapegoat, and he fits the bill.

If he plays against Watford and has a good game, people will be saying he should be in the team every week, and why do we need Bernardo?

Such is the fickleness of NSC.

But he doesn`t say they are easily winnable does he?
Out of the 7 you would like to think we can win 3 or 4 or get about 12 points which would be ample assuming Fulham don`t go on an incredible run.

I think I'm going to log off here today. Some of our fans are absolutely embarrassing.

Mmmmm, crossed my mind too. As usual, after 1 bad result it's urine soaked linen time again.FFS, man up. We're easily good enough generally and will stay up comfortably. 12th is where I said on a previous thread is where I think we'll finish and I'll stand by that.

Better than 15th is all I have confidence in... 12th might need a degree of luck.

We've just come through what is possibly our hardest run of 9 games in the season and are still 7 points clear. Our home form has been outstanding so far: We've played 11, of which 5 have been top six, and have won 18 points (4 points from top six, 14 from others). We've got 8 home games to go, and Man City are the only top 6 side of those 8, so if we keep up our record against non top 6 sides, we'll get 14-16 more points at home. There's no reason to make panic buys based on one very disappointing 2nd half.

Let's say (I would prefer better obviously) P8 W2 D2 L4 = 34pts. Enough to stay up for many on here.

35 will be the magic number required this season, so that would work fine plus we are not going to lose every away game so you can add 3/4 points away from home and we should be looking at nearly 40, and like you I would expect we can do significantly better than that.

Sum total is we're not going down and there is no need to panic buy after a bad 45 minutes and a few fans throwing their toys out of the pram.
