There's great cycling around Bath, as long as you don't mind hills!

Agree with most of the suggestions for pubs so far. I'd also mention St. James Wine Vaults which is behind the Royal Crescent.

You might want to avoid V. D. Lane (as us schoolboys called it ) near where Lansdown Road levels out. We were made to run up there in cross-country
