Barnes is just brilliant. What an inspiration he should be to lower league players.

Ironically he’s also probably the most Chris Hughton player out there. Does any striker in the league work harder than Barnes at the ugly parts of the game?

Frustrating to see teams like Palace and Burnley take the game to the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal and give them a real run for their money ( scoring 2 + away goals) .......we are a long way off in comparison.:tantrum:

Because they both have a plan to get the ball up the pitch.
Palace rely on pace and Zaha especially but the wide players are in the same postcode as the striker so can hit teams on the break especially away from home
Burnley know Barnes and wood don’t have the pace alone so Dyche isn’t daft enough to isolate them generally. They get the ball wide and into the box quick and direct which puts teams under pressure.

We do neither at the moment. There was a time we got the ball wide and into the box quickly for Murray to do stuff with but teams now know press us higher and push us 30 yards backwards we have no idea how to break them down.

He is an absolute **** and gets away with murder on the pitch. If we had decent referees in the Premier League he’d be suspended for half the season.

11 for Barnes in the league now. Joint highest scorer for Burnley in a season in the PL era.

At least we spent the £250k well

That January we signed David Rodriguez (1 goal) and Obika (0 goals) up front.

Meanwhile, Dyche proved he knew his footballing onions.

Careful pointing out the succession off really really shitehouse strikers that have come through the door, over the years might land you in trouble with the thought policeman.

We missed a trick for sure when we did not see the valued of him. I’ve never been his greatest fan or his biggest critic But you can’t argue with his work rate and goals. He is invaluable to Burnley and allows them to play 2 CFs due to the work rate he has. Same applies to Wood really. 2 good CFs well used by the manager who make life uncomfortable for most teams in the league

Yep. I wish we had a few of him rather than the soft bunch we’ve got now, wouldn’t be in this mess.

Very true. I hate everything about Burnley but their combative confrontational style is the reason they are staying up comfortably as most of their players are Championship quality.

Yep. We are so easy to play against. Even Millwall managed to frustrate us and we had no plan B.

In our defence we're a nice club and nice people.

Would be nice to be a little bit more competitive however.

PS, Chelsea gifted Burnley the first goal, they watched. . . . . .if that had been us it would have been Propper/Stephens, they'd have been closed down and turned, and passed slightly backwards and sideways, before 2 passes later it found its way back to Ryan!

Telling me that it was great business because of a tow the party line soundbite. But which soundbite will be dusted off?

You'll be told how great Murray, Hemed and Baldock are and their brilliance far outweighs the now 40+ rejects that have stolen a living from Mr Bloom.

After the West Ham and Fulham games CH has worked out that if we don't score then we can't take the lead and therefore we can't lose a lead.

Why don’t we try equalising before they score on Saturday ?

There was a time Burnley were the ugliest team to watch in the Prem. Now that title belongs to us.
