I thought the share of the leave vote would be closer to 60% than 50%.

Interesting, but why were you so certain of a leave victory, and in light that you only know of friends and family voting out why do you think (with your own deeply held conviction for remain) you were unable to persuade them to change?

If that was my experience I don’t think I would be posting on this thread.

Unlikely? We have to trade to survive, and have now put ourselves into a position, where Fox has managed to sign up just two deals at the end of March. Do you think the rest of the world is going to come rushing to our shores to sign really good deals?
We had trade deals with 27 other countries, with the rest of the world. Now, we've lost that trade, and replaced it with thin air.

I think many countries around the world will be looking to forge mutually beneficial trade deals to replace or build on existing agreements (assuming we aren't trapped in a customs union). Do you think we will be signing really bad ones then?

You've got to hand it to cunning fergus he gets remainers to make completely contradictory statements and go trawling through all his posts since the beginning of time. :D

The devil makes work for idle hands.......it’s quite tragic really. Amongst the mattress soaked bitterness and box room masturbatory stalking there are some remainers who post a positive view of a UK fully federalised in the EU. These are at least honest brokers about the EU.

There is the greatest contradiction of all, or should I say lie.......?

It's interesting that you linked to a pasta post rather than quoting my posts. Now see if you can find those posts I made before pasta edited them ?

Oh I forgot you don't do

:lolol:

Must have quite a dull life if you found that interesting.

Strange you didn't complain about pastafarian 'editing' them at the time. Wouldn't it just be easier to just admit your options do change ... after all it is true.

Pasta, last few years I have had some jerry friends over around New Year, and have had to arrange entertainment on similar basis.

National Hunt racing at Chelters on New Years Day with a local hotel (like the Greenway) is just the ticket, but Plumpton and Fontwell are local and should have meets that time of year.

Last year when they were over we took them to the Fulham game after a day in London with dinner at Simpsons in the Strand. .

And, tell me, when you looked around at 'Chelters', The Greenway and Simpsons, who did you find yourself aligned with ?

Looks like you slipped into 'business persona' by mistake for a minute. No wonder you avoid posting on any threads that aren't political, it's just too easy to mix up personas. It appears that very occasionally though, the temptation of a little boast is all too much.

It's almost like it's a completely different poster from the principled socialist 'my old man would give me a slap' Scoomber isn't it

:lolol:
Crikey watford Stalker that was from a completely unrelated thread I myself started in 2015, just how deep into peoples post history have you been filling your empty days with. You have been really triggered by people on here havnt you, they have completely got into your head.

Also how is it you only quoted half what was said and omitted the rest.?

Last year when they were over we took them to the Fulham game after a day in London with dinner at Simpsons in the Strand. They are Bayern fans, and they loved it, albeit they had been to previous BHA games..........once we were in a pub after an away game and it was last night of the proms, and we got the whole pub involved with Rule Britannia.

The truth is, the pubs, racecourses etc are the background, if you as host can bring your English charm to bear on proceedings you will be fine..........thats what most foreigners want when in auld England.

https://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?329177-where-would-you-take-a-foreigner/page9

Ah, I see now, the venues are irrelevant and just “background”. Imagine that, hanging out with Bayern Fans and going to a pub as well….……what an Etonesque past-time.

The fact that i treat myself to a steak and kidney pie at at simpsons (Rules is better) and a nice hotel in the cotswolds does not change that, but again that says more about you than me.

I am frankly appalled, you go to Simpsons and skip the world class Roast Beef for S&K pie instead. What is wrong with you man?...... Lost for words.
You are dead to me.

Special place in hell etc etc etc

It’s okay Larus, your mob won. You don’t have to keep lying. I suppose it just comes naturally to you.

So what do you think is a lie?

The GDP data is from the World Bank site (therefore I assume you won't dispute that).

The ECB has been running a much more expansionary monetary policy then the BoE, again that is a fact.

Therefore, I assume you must not agree with the destination of the EU as a federal state? I can see why you think people should not be allowed to vote - you're a good example as to why not.

Your standard response when owned is deflection rather than addressing facts.

I love it when people say things like “the FACT is that the U.K. is a good place to do business”

Currently it might be but to argue it is a fact that it will be post brexit is just wrong. It might be okay but to say it is a fact is just a lie. It is an opinion presented as fact.

Let’s start calling no deal the venuzuala option. https://www.newstatesman.com/politi...eal-brexit-we-should-call-it-venezuela-option

Oh dear. Survey by EY shows the UK is the number 1 place for inward investment. Germany/France are closing the gap, but still behind. So yeah, all of the Brexit crap going on won't be helping I accept, but we've been told many times that the UK would lose inward investment if we didn't join the Euro, or voted leave and it hasn't happened yet. I realise remainers won't want to see the facts.

Oh dear. Looks like someone doesn't understand the difference between GDP and GDP growth.

So our GDP sn't falling further behind Germany and isn't currently falling behind France?

But it has happened and could get worse yet, from your link, "Investor concerns over Brexit led to a decline in Financial Services, Business Services and HQ investments into the UK - against an expanding European market – but were offset by a 22% boost in Digital FDI, compared to a 33% rise across Europe."

So even where we have had a percentage increase, it has not been as high as the European average increase. Your link supports the argument that we have lost FDI doesn't it?

We have certainly plumbed new depths with this post haven't we?

There is nothing here of any intellectual substance just tragic innuendo. I dont know how far back you have gone to review my posts, but the fact you have says far more about you than me.

To even suggest that having an interest in horse racing is not aligned with the working class is simply absurd and again provides a beautiful illustration of how little you know about the matters of which you post.

Whether or not you accept my background is moot, the fact is that is that typically it is life experience that colours your outlook, and mine is a deep red driven by how tbe rich expoit the poor. That is why i support a future out of the EU and its Goldman Sachs influenced policies.

The fact that i treat myself to a steak and kidney pie at at simpsons (Rules is better) and a nice hotel in the cotswolds does not change that, but again that says more about you than me.

You remind me so much of someone I know. Living and enjoying all the benefits of the capitalist lifestyle, even boasting about where they like to spend their money, the restaurants they like to frequent, the labels on the clothes they wear, I'm sure you know the sort of thing.

Although I'm not sure the person that I know would then troll political posts on a football forum with a completely different persona. (I guess if he did, he could always claim to be a hypocrite rather than a troll).

And it's really not hard to use a search function, even your mate pasta has managed it

He has probably forgotten only a few months ago his crystal ball was telling him there were only two options not three.

Well as JCFG pointed out helpfully in post Post #67274 pasta made the following edits to my quotes before posting them.

In response to a question of why we wouldn't get 'no deal' I said

I agree with you that a deal will be made and the EU will grant an extension to membership on worse terms than we have currently. We don't really have a choice.

I agree that us committing economic suicide will be disastrous for the EU as well.

I have said this all along. My bet is that we will either have the softest of soft Brexits, paying in but having no influence or there will be some sort of referendum or GE.

As someone said a couple of pages earlier, the answer to my questions is irrelevant as we will almost certainly not be leaving with ‘no deal’. What I am doing is pointing out the ludicrous situation whereby we have people believing that 'no deal' is an option even though, with 7 months to go, we have made absolutely no preparations.

The questions are for those who believe that 'no deal' is an option, of which I thought (obviously wrongly) you were one.

Which you then edited to

I have said this all along. My bet is that we will either have the softest of soft Brexits, paying in but having no influence or there will be some sort of referendum or GE.

And, then talking about what was possible in negotiations, I said

Although I can see the case for a cross party negotiating team spreading the blame (probably not in Labour's interests !), I can't really see the outcome changing significantly.

We have seen a number of people on here talking about the negotiations and us 'showing our cards' or not being 'tough in the negotiations'. The fact of the matter is that very early on we stated all these red lines and then added the DUPs. From then on, there was nothing to hide and everything from both sides, from the Ireland border issue to all trading figures across the EU were in the public domain.

I can't see how from that point, we were going to get anything other than the 'softest of soft Brexits' or 'No deal'.

The EU were never going to let us pick more of their cherries and the idea from some, that if Boris was in charge we would have done better is just fantasy.

I really believe that from soon after the vote, we have simply watched a narrative get played out whilst politicians from both sides have gone through the motions, and this would have happened regardless of who was on the negotiating team or, indeed, in Government given the position we had put ourselves in

Which you then edited to

I can't see how from that point, we were going to get anything other than the 'softest of soft Brexits' or 'No deal'.

That took me all of three minutes. I can't understand why you lot don't use the search function more (or maybe I can :lolol:)

I know, the trouble is i am like a cow licking an electric fence, if i have the time for a luxurious feast i still opt for S&K pie. As i said its Rules for me on that score these days.

SITS has changed in last 18 months, they no longer do the trencherman breakfast and menu has been updated, which was the best Emglish breakfast ever.

A quick point on prices too, because eating in London is not cheap, a year ago i went to a pub outside Paddington got 4 breakfasts and pints, it came to just shy of £70. Astonished i said to the fella at the jump i could have 4 S&K pie dinners at SITS for less tham that!

How we laughed.

I’m referring to the lies and project fear you peddle about the EU.

Point of fact, I never knowlingiy deflect. There are certainly some posters on here to whom I will never engage with on a level beyond taking the mickey out of them, as they are too ridiculous to warrant my time and effort but deflection? Nope, I’ll leave that to your mob.

Besides your figures have been well and truly denounced and proved incorrect by posters that come across as far more knowledgable than you or I.

I suppose you can be funny in your dogged insulting of anyone who challenges your posts but beyond that I don’t feel you add a great deal of any worth to this debate. Or any debate I have seen you take part in for that matter.
