To save Beach Seagull and Hastings gull their hot air , I was not at the game as I was busy saving the world from capitalism; it was left to my father to dine on Saturday. He’s a Tory and obvs permitted to indulge in hospitality  Comrade Brother Tubthumper was present but you’re not going to complain about a father and son spending some quality time together are you?

Any way, was ist das?

Dad's a tory, and son a champagne socialist; must be a case of bad parenting . .

Champagne, I wish. It’s now prosecco in hospitality. At least they had English sparkling wine last season.

That’s fine dining

In all seriousness, those portions probably explain why the price was so much cheaper. you can't win, and then you watch the match and the pattern continues. The one time we went for hospitality, it was super; food and service were excellent, with booze till it came out your ear'ole. The other occasion was a mother's day meal and the meal was dreadful, so much so that when the manager came over, we were offered an immediate refund -and voucher for our next trip!! You and I both know that in Germany this would be far less likely to happen, where in general more pride is taken with service.

My father and brother did have a great afternoon. I’m at the game on Sat but I need to leave shortly after the final whistle. I’m around for all the remaining games though.

I do agree, the portions look small. It’s also worth comparing the ingredients for Liverpool, which was top dollar, with yesterday. Starter was three types of cured fish versus that mackerel paste thing. Obviously cheaper. Tenderloin of beef versus chicken. Obviously cheaper.
Superphil, did you also get unlimited selected booze and mini Piglets pies at full time?

Yes we did, Harvey’s was decent, had an Italian red wine which was unspectacular, although the white was nice. A glass of fizz was on the table when we arrived, I though it it was meant to be Ridgeview, if it was, then it really is at anywhere near as good as Nyetimber, but I suspect it was Prosecco, I didn’t get around to asking, wouldn’t have made any difference.

It was prosecco for the Liverpool. Last season it was Ridgeview and you could also have Ridgeview by the bottle with the meal. They’ve cut back on this.
