Another big team ref who showed too much leniancy towards Chelsea’s thuggish cynicism which they used on a number of occasions when threatened. Fecking frustrating to see the big team bias so often.

Correct decision on the offside, but Murrey was in the Chelsea half when the ball was ok ayed to him, he collected the ball on the half way line, this is where the free kick should have been taken. The amount of times Chelsea had a throw in and they gained an extra 10 yards each time. We get a throw and he's moving us. Likes the top teams.

You can if you have run back from the opposing half, Sorry, the decision was correct.

The decision was correct, but it was the West side linesman who flagged so it must have been over the line, or else he wouldn't have seen if he was in line.
What is in dispute, is the Chelsea player picking the ball up and throwing it 10 yards further forward to take the kick.

We had a free kick from near the half-way line, at the edge of the pitch, and our players moved the ball 1 yard inside, and he came to get them to move it back. WTF? 1 yard, when it's that far from goal? Yet Chelsea could take there (many, many) free-kicks from wherever they felt like.

Not that those were the worst examples of his performance. He was a very poor top 6 fan-boy.

This.

He gave them everything. Totally biased.

Absolute tosh - a player cannot be offside in his own half - the free kick must be taken at the point the offense is committed is the point that he runs back from an offside position

The offside decision was correct - Ty he point from which the free kick was taken was 15 yards too far forward

I think we should be clear that we lost this game because Chelsea were better than us. The ref could have been completely impartial, made the correct decision on all of his calls we would still have lost.

Having said that, I, someone who often defends the ref in threads like this, thought he was one-sided. Every throw, every free kick he made us take it from the exact position that the offence occurred. Not once did he do that with Chelsea. There was a moment when Bruno was warming up at pitchside and caught the ball at the exact place it went out, they then took the throw from four or five yards further upfield, offsides were never taken anywhere near inline with where the linesman is pointing (yes free kicks are taken from where the offence is, and Murray collected the ball in our half, but not as deep as where it was taken). It seemed to get worse the more we pointed it out to him. Fouls let go against us followed by lesser fouls given against us moments later. He didn't have a great game, and Chelsea seemed to benefit from it.

Well, the ref also let them take throw ins 10-15 yards ahead of where they should too.

Also noticed Atwell shaking hands with every member of Chelsea staff in the dugout at the end of the match.

I wish someone like Paul Barber could send a report to the referees association detailing these things. Referees must be accountable. I know they're human, and can make mistakes, but when it is so blatant, then a club has a right to make representations.

Exactly.

There's a guy on FB saying, firstly, that we didn't take our throw-ins from the correct spots (and we did), and then that it's professional to cheat and gain yards at throw-ins. He was also suggesting we should have done the same. Unbelievable!
