Brexit blues for investors in eurozone
Investor morale in the eurozone has hit a four-year low, driven down by fears about Brexit and weaker global growth.
The Sentix index, which monitors investor sentiment in the single currency bloc, dropped to -3.7 this month, from -1.5 in January. The sixth consecutive monthly fall leaves it at its lowest level since November 2014....
A separate index on investor morale in Germany fell from 6.1 to 3.1, the fourth consecutive decline, hitting its lowest level since August 2012.
“The German economy, which has been the economic locomotive of the eurozone in recent years, is losing more steam,” Mr Hübner said. The German export model was coming under pressure both from Brexit and problems that the car industry is facing in China, he said.

Perhaps those German exporters and car manufacturers should get on the phone to Brussels, start applying some pressure ...

Corrected for accuracy.
Lorries etc are stopped now. They check for people and illegal goods such as arms. They don't bother dealing with tariff paperwork as there isn't any for goods coming from the EU. The idea that they will suddenly stop using things like their body heat seeking technology is ridiculous - they will carry on as now as to avoid the delays of having to check goods for tariff purposes. Next you'll be suggesting lorry drivers won't have to show their passports because they'll just "wave them through"
Let's revisit the article in question, shall we? Here is the very first line.
"GOODS shipped to Britain from the EU are to be waved through 20 UK ports without checks in a No Deal to avoid huge jams – HMRC has declared."
Without checks. It explicitly says it right there. So we are back to how you check goods which aren't being checked. Schroedingers checks?

Oh dear - The Footy Genius has got Irish backstop pie all over his shirt. You post up an article written in The Daily Telegraph by an oddball, English, former Vote Leave staff member, that you didn't understand any of, have been comprehensively owned as a result, and yet you continue with your strawclutching, whataboutery desperation with the backstop. I'm not surprised though with how reneging on it is going down in Washington and other western capitals. It must be very chastening for you. Funny how not one Attorney General or equivalent in any European capital, let alone Washington, doesn't complain about these erroneous legal niceties of the backstop and think it breaches The Good Friday Agreement as a result - It's just Brexit backing oddballs.
The sooner you become a lifelong Irish unification after-timer, the better it'll be for you.

Delusional/wishful thinking.
Polls come and go the fact is the unionist parties don't support it and a majority in the UK parliament agree which is of paramount importance to getting a deal. Peddling an Irish nationalist agenda won't change that.
