Got to agree with this, load of B#$@%cks. So what if he misses a game, he's still going to get paid. The only way would be to fine them big, but footballers have all the power so that won't happen.

Or just ban them for longer in the game they allegedly love. Palace should fine him two weeks wages for his petulance, but obviously they won't, they are as implicit as him in his appeal. Sewers and rats come to mind.

Hopefully Wlif will learn from this, next time he should just spit in the officials direction, and call him a f***ing cheating c**t , that seems to be acceptable by the FA .

Apparently he's claiming that he was applauding James Ward-Prowse for getting him sent off, not the ref. Looks like he's looking at the ref to me. Worth a go though, I suppose.

Looking forward to Hennesseys new (or further elaborated) tale.

Do you know what, I completely agree. The next time he's sent off he should definitely try that.

If that fails he should try pushing the referee over.

I should imagine the appeal will make him eligible to play on Sat against West ham but bar him from the game against Donny in the cup, so it may just be tactical ??

The suspension is not currently effective whilst the player considers his right of appeal.

The Football Association has released the following statement with regards to Wilfried Zaha.

Wilfried Zaha has been suspended for one match following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing yesterday [06 February 2019]. He was also fined £10,000.

The suspension is not currently effective whilst the player considers his right of appeal.

The Crystal Palace forward accepted a charge of improper conduct, which followed his behaviour after a second-half dismissal during the game against Southampton on 30 January 2019.

How does that work, then?

I’m just glad he kept his elbows down . Now that would deserve a long ban .

Dunno. Handy that he'll be able to play on Saturday though. Cheating off the field as well as on it.

That is so poor from the FA to have dealt with it in such a way as to make this possible - that Palace basically get to choose which game he misses. The incident happened 8 or 9 days ago. The hearing should have been held early enough so that any appeal could also have been convened prior to this next game. Cynical from Palace and incompetence from the FA.

That said, if they lose to WHU with Mr Tumble playing, and then get knocked out by Donny, with him missing, that would be most satisfying

In all seriousness, getting sent off for allowing yourself to be wound up by an opponent, is pretty embarrassing for a player of his experience.

He did make a total tit of himself throughout the whole incident.

Hennessey is the one who should have kept his elbow down. Thinking of it what Hennessey is accused of sort of fits your username over on the BBS doesn't it?

Even better if he is still feeling hard done by and gets himself sent off again at West Ham!

You’d hope West Ham have someone snidey enough to make it their sole aim, to wind him up. Noble maybe?

It doesn't take a REALLY snidey person to get him close to tears though. For example a club mascot could do it, or just getting beaten by your rivals and getting away with a couple of nasty fouls will suffice.
