Then why didn't he sell sooner ?? We have been offered double what we got today !! Utter bollocks.
Keeping Bob never saved our Div 1 skin either.

But if we'd taken that £3m, we would have got naff all for it in the transfer market at that time. It's like selling your house at the top of the housing boom - unless you can bank the money, you don't actually make that much because your new place will cost a bomb too.

Granted, if the money's to be diverted away from the squad e.g. for Falmer, the £3m would have been handy. But then we'd all be moaning because we all want to see it go into players.

Why did DK have to 'do' anything? The lad was still under contract. OK BZ would have sulked most of next season & been even more petulant than he was last season, but at least DK could have gone thru the motions of looking like he was TRYING to retain the Albion's most valuable asset. Might easily have squeezed another half-mil f he'd waited a couple of weeks. But - hey! - there's that big fuckin' Falmer Inquiry circus going into extra time & bills to be paid - so the Albion just rolls over. How Smalltime Charlie is THAT? ???

John Eustace could have done us a job actually.

As I've said elsewhere, we'll get what's willing to be offered - if we'd have accepted 3 million from Everton last year, then we wouldn't have gone up, simple as that.

It looks like we needed the money urgently! But why, they have just had all of our season ticket money. Where has that gone already???? :nono:

I've always thought Eustace was useless, and now that he's gone to Stoke, I can't see them staying up at all. He won't solve their goalscoring problem.

So DK could have hung on to a player who, even at the end of last season, had his mind elsewhere. That would probably have been the easy way out from a PR point of view... I think in trying to criticise DK you contradict yourself. He's actually done the more difficult thing - recognising we're not likely to get much more for Bobby unless the transfer market dramatically improves, which isn't likely to happen fast with the next TV deal built around current prices. Hang on too long, and BZwould just be hanging around for a free transfer. That would be ridiculous business.
