[Palace] When Liverpool gave Crystal Palace their biggest ever defeat

When Crystal Palace made the daunting trip to Anfield in September 1989, Liverpool were still hurting from that Michael Thomas moment in the previous campaign and were in no mood to show mercy to a newly promoted team. What looked a tough examination on paper for Palace proved to be even worse on grass. It was to be a day their fans and players would never forget.

Let's hope for a rerun tomorrow.

Funny result but they did get their revenge later on in the season. Oh well, at least they lost the final.

Oh please. It's set up for a Crystal Palace win. Liverpool haven't lost at Anfield for over 30 matches. Their last defeat? Palace in April 2017. How many times do we see a team on an unbeaten run losing to the last team that beat them?
We talked up the chances of us beating Liverpool - we did so well earlier this season, they had lost their last two games, had a bunch of injuries. We still lost. Their next opponents are our rivals. Would be just like the footballing gods to give them the win when we just failed. Liverpool are still suffering from many of the injuries they had when they came to the Amex and have at least one more.
Yes, Speroni is ancient, but that's exactly why he will put in a fantastic, motm performance. We see it so often - the reserve reserve when all else fails choice stepping in, and everyone worrying, but they put in a star performance. Particularly in goal where the rest of the team, perhaps fearful of what could happen raise their game and go that little further to protect them.
So much being made of Liverpool' victory over us vis a vis their poor run of form. Oh look, everythings back to normal and they can continue their stroll to the titl... NO! there's a red and blue Banana skin.

While we cling on and try to avoid too big a loss, they will be the talk of the football media this weekend for their fine performance, led by their keeper, palace through and through never letting them down!

And at the same time I was in the away end at Molineux watching us win 4-2. Great day!

Great night, think Wolves had just come up with all the Steve Bull hype.
Also seem to think Pompey lost 3-0 at home that night to make it an unbelievable hatrick of results!
