I’m proud to say I voted Boris. He will be great.

It’s time our Prime Minister’s returned to be cheerleaders for the country with others doing the work. May was a detail fanatic disaster. At least Boris has lived a life.

British politics is devoid of any talent or leadership from the top down, and your 'cheerleader' is nothing short of a circus act, with no talent behind him to do the 'work' so I'm not sure where you are coming from on that one.

Is it just me that thinks with Johnson at the helm we'll become a global figure-of-fun in the same way most of us look at the USA with Trump running the show?

Yes.

But without the power or riches.

I have just read that we called a high level meeting of foreign ministers, to be held at our Foreign Ministry, with colleagues from all over Europe and the Baltic States to discuss security in that area.
Everybody turned up except Boris, he decided to have his portrait done for the front cover of The Telegraph instead, just before his resignation.
We are going to be in a lot of trouble, very soon.

Anyone who votes Tory is a heartless. Soulless douchbag.

At the moment this is true. It hasn't always been true.

If Boris wins (which he will) there may be a resurgence of interest in the old socialist, Corbyn. He may have dithered over antisemitism, and spoken to a bad Irishman in 1987 and shared a taxi with Osama Bin Laden in 2009, but he's not a big fat liar.

On the tory side, only swivel-eyed loons are likely to step forward to replace the likes of 'back bench Phil'. They may even begin to make the likes of Dianne Abbott look half competant (no, just kidding about that one).

Before any of the events there was a thread on here on which I predicted Trump, Brexit and Corbyn. I have two out of three already.....(and the two I least wanted). We shall see. There is a fair chance Boris will bungle Brexit in spectacular style - hard Brexit would be unpleasant, and no Brexit (still my expectation) would be catestrophic (for Boris). We live in interesting times.

Bojo the clown has as much potential to wreck and shame the country as Corbyn.

I’d vote Hunt but there’d be a gun pointed at the back of my head.

The good news is that once Corbyn is finally moved on and there is a general election, Bojo the clown will have made the Tories unelectable for a generation.

In recent times each Prime Minister has been worse than the one before them.

Even Boris won't be rock bottom. It's the one after him I fear more ( and I am not even assuming that will be Corbyn ).

Have I missed something? Only one of those has happened so far!

Lol! Indeed you are correct.

I meant that the Brexit referendum would find in favour of the racists and idiots. Which it did.

Actually, I still maintain it won't happen. An orderly Brexit. An orderly shit on the lawn. An orderly fisting. An orderly mass suicide. No. No, it won't ever happen. :lolol:

Hunt. As long as he does actually get us out.

Also, if he tries to avoid it by calling a GE, he's probably be the best available to form a coalition with the Brexit party.

I don't like either candidate but the unfairly elected thing bugs me. Those are the conservative party rules. The same thing happened when Blair retired. No-one except labour party members could vote for Brown as PM.

Two key differences with Brown. 1) he was continuing with Blairite policy in the main and, more importantly in terms of our representative democracy, 2) the Labour Party had a parliamentary majority and he had an overwhelming backing from Labour MPs - so much so that no one else attracted enough support to even force a leadership vote.
