Like a bit of Brad Paisley

Well I love her
But I love to fish
I spend all day out on this lake
And hell is all I catch
Today she met me at the door
Said I would have to choose
If I hit that fishing hole today
She'd be packing all her things
And she'd be gone by noon

[Chorus]
Well, I'm gonna miss her
When I get home
But right now I'm on this lakeshore
And I'm sitting in the sun
I'm sure it'll hit me
When I walk through that door tonight
Yeah, I'm going miss her
Oh, look there, I've got a bite!

[Verse 2]
Now there's a chance that if I hurry
I could beg her to stay
But that water's right
And the weather's perfect
No telling what I might catch today

Was at The Grand Ole Opry last night to see this guy. I believe he had a big future

Do they still stop the music and have an old guy in a suit giving you “a message from our sponsors” featuring some adverts? Cracked me up when I was there

Think it was something to do with the show going out on the radio nationwide.

Yep, pretty much after every performance!
Quite odd, but a great experience for any country fan. One more thing ticked off my bucket list. Heading into Nashville to check out the music scene today.

Country Music Hall of Fame is worth a visit, guess you must be doing it? The Honky Tonks at night are great fun too

Thanks...
Will def be checking out everywhere in town today before we head off towards Memphis in a day or two. After that we are driving down to New Orleans.
I’ve been saving up for years to do all this. Loving every minute!

Stax Museum Of American Soul Music is also worth a visit, seem to remember it is opposite the Gibson Guitar Factory. Definitely recommend the Sun Studios Tour too

Graceland is also a pretty nice house nowhere near as ostentatious as the entrance makes it seem

Can't stand the old , what I'd call original country music. But unfortunately my old neighbour who moved in just before Christmas does , and makes sure we all hear it along with yeah haring and clapping . Sitting outside now listening to it and it's driving me nuts !

Where to begin....

George Jones/Tammy Wynette
Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Eagles
Brad Paisley, Alison Krauss, Alison Moorer, Dixie Chicks, Laura Cantrell
Luke Combs, Florida Georgia Line

As said previously so difficult to just pick one favourite and choices are fluid. Three duets worth listening to:

How’s the world treating you - Alison Krauss/James Taylor
Sweet old world - Lucinda Williams/Mary Chaplin Carpenter
Heart-shaped bruise - Elvis Costello/Emmylou Harris

Laura Cantrell’s first album - Not the trembling kind - is fantastic(John Peel described it as the best album ever). She’s great in concert too.
Luke Combs’ first album - This one’s for you - is also great and has produced 5 US no.1s. Saw him in concert in October supported by Ashley McBryde - also great. His new US tour is called ‘Beer never broke my heart’. Hopefully he tours it here too - he’s brilliant!

I would witter on for ages but won’t. However it has helped me forget 8 hours driving yesterday for a very disappointing game and also Chelsea have scored two late and undeserved goals so things are looking up!

I wasn't sold on this the first time I heard it, but it grew on me:

Take me home country roads - John Denver
The Gambler - Kenny Rogers
Copperhead Road - Steve Earle
Back down south - Kings of Leon (probably not a true country song?)
