Bruce on Brighton:
"Brighton have had a total change of philosophy and style under their new manager. They’re probably going through that transition, their supporters need to be patient with Graham, we all need time when we come into a new club to turn things around to our philosiphy. They had a wonderful start (at Watford) when they won 3-0 away from home; they’re a good side, they’ve got good players.
“That’s the Premier League.”
Bruce on importance of importance of game:
"The vast majority of the team have been for a while now so they understand the demands & the importance of a game against Brighton. They’ve had a total change of style, so it’ll be a difficult game, but we’re at home & it’s a wonderful opportunity. We know they will come, take a look at the surroundings and raise their game 10% but we have to and will be ready for that."
On Andy Carroll:
"We all know if Andy stays fit he’s a wonderful, wonderful centre forward. Bit old school if you like to say that. Of his type, there’s nobody better in last 8-10 years when playing...a fit Andy Carroll is going to be huge. Great for us going forward. Since he’s got fit and been around outside on grass and training with us the last week it’s been pretty evident he’s given everyone a lift. Hopefully give whole supporters a lift as well. Local lad who’s come back home, like me. Good to see him back involved."
Bruce on injuries:
"We've got 5 out and that is a cruel, cruel blow for us. We've not got the deepest squad anyway so it makes things much tougher. I've got to be the unluckiest manager when it comes to injuries but when they're all back we'll be there or thereabouts".
