I am reminded of ,I think ,a Morecome and Wise show from way back. All through the episode they kept showing a theatre, with posters and the canopy saying.. HE is coming,then HE is nearly here, then the last one of the sequence was inside the theatre with the curtain closed showing HE is here, and the curtain went up and the last poster simply said "He has gone"

Local journalists being bombarded by questions about Maupay, but the wall of silence is deafening. Might it be that the story is embargoed until a certain time to allow the club to do its media thing?

Not really strange, news embargoes are common practice. That isn't to say they're under one right this moment, but it isn't that strange in the grand scheme of things.
