Just had an export in a bottle.Seem to remember in the 80's Tartan Special on trains.

Yes that's right Youngers Tartan, it was available by the can too. I regularly used to put many a can away on train journeys north on away days back in the 1980's.

A bit like BG though, I don't have the capacity nowadays, and am much happier with a gin & tonic.

Maybe Holsten Pils but I seem to remember the lager choice also including Harp or Carlsberg. I don't recall Ruddles to be honest. Dinky cans of Courage Light Ale too on some trains

I think I remember Ruddles, didn't it come in little green bottles.
Also cheese sandwiches and dog ends, lots of them.
