not unilaterlly, but they would have to install some checks. just been listening to chap on radio ex Border force director, says the systems are already available for soft border and customs is going electronic world wide anyway. just needs the politcal will to approve and implement.

How will the electronic customs work if we cannot have access to Galileo?

not sure if customs systems need gps, we do have access to Galileo. only the milspec encrypted end is restricted (if it even works without certain key tech).

Ending free movement for EU citizens on day one of Brexit is impossible.

Surely you're not taking all this lying down? Must be a part-time office cleaner's job or something you can find us to balance all that out?

Listening to an Irish lady on Radio 4, think it was the “Crossing Continents” program but I’m not sure. No matter.
She was describing how awful it would be to see people being pulled over in cars at checkpoints again. Young men standing on the side of the road as their cars are searched. Historically border checkpoints in Ireland have been flash-points for violence and this would almost certainly mark a return dark days.
Having spent a lot of time in belfast and the outlying areas in the 1980’s, I share her concerns. Staring at the ****ing “Peace Wall”, passing through checkpoints, swing gates on the main roads. Ugh.
The possibility of this alone is a reason not to attempt Brexit.

Why should the European Space Agency give us access?
