As well as the music - what about those late 70s Sussex locations. Mark 1 Escort loaded to the gunnels from Brighton to far flung places like Cinderellas/Stroods, Sheffield Park, Neville Crest & Gun, Clouds all in search of the latest 12 inch sensations: Sylvetser/Funkadaelic/Shalamar/Joe Thomas/Coffee/Tom Browne... And DJs Greg Edwards, Pete Tong, Paul Clark. The precurser to Acid House

Also dj ing back then was Greg Wilson who was at cinderellas and taught fat boy slim
The Isenhurst at heathfield.
Was a pity sheffield arms closed sue to 2 London gangs fighting one Saturday in its hey day it rivald the Gold mine at Canvey island as a jazz funk venue. Also Ravenswood nr Sharpethorne was ok

Yes I know you are into it from other posts.
But whilst Disco did seep into Soul and Jazz Funk there was a difference.
There were discos and there were clubs and soul festivals all dayers and nighters that certainty did not play disco.
That was my scene and I know I am only telling you something you already know.

You may like to listen to MiSoul and MiSoul Connossuers on DAB or internet radio

I knew Pete Tong when he was a teenager and was a DJ at The Sheffield Arms in Sheffield Park Sussex, he did quite well for himself.
Anyway I have to go or I will be up all night doing this.
Really popular I know but where did it all go wrong Micheal.

Written by Rod Temperton who came from Cleethorpes Lincolnshire, produced by Quincy Jones.

I prefer this version also produced by Quincy.

Around 2.43 mins you can see Jacko singing along

Can anyone else remember a double bill of K&TG with Sister Sledge playing the Dome late 70's?

And another classic
