England haven’t beaten Ireland in Dublin for years, but are about to win brilliantly.

Ireland, after beating NZ twice, were rating themselves (as had the rugby media has, plus IRB ratings), as the no 1 team on the planet.

Well done to Eddie Jones and the squad.

Here are the points after the first round of matches:

France 19:24 Wales

Quite a mixed opinion on the outcome of this match and it looked like a French victory until Wales staged a second-half revival to beat France by five points.

@Is it PotG was the only one with the correct winning margin.

Scotland 33:20 Italy

As usual with matches involving the Italian team it's all about how many they are going to be thrashed by and predictions ranged from 6 up to 40 points.

Scotland looked in complete control with the score at 33:3 but what happened next was a Scottish shambles and the Italians made the most of it with three late tries.

Frankie and Petee both predicted the 13 point victory to Scotland.

Ireland 20:32 England

Everyone predicted this game to be a relatively close game but a 12 point win to England in Dublin was a surprise to the bookies.

Taybha was the only one who got it spot-on.

The second round of matches start next Saturday:

Scotland v Ireland, Saturday 14:15
Italy v Wales, Saturday 16:45
England v France, Sunday 15:00
