That idea makes some sense as it would sell a few shirts here but Southampton aren't exactly popular. I saw a few Leicester shirts around in their title winning season but they started off so badly the following season, they quickly disappeared. The Japanese go nuts for a local winning overseas and we aren't there....yet. He's getting on a bit so I'm not so sure the numbers would add up.
Aren't we only having to go through this "clutching at straws" exercise because we loaned out two strikers named in the 25 AFTER the transfer window slammed shut? It gives me the impression that somebody doesn't know what they are doing.

The bit I don't understand: If they've cancelled the contract due to the fact he doesn't fit in with their wage budget, surely they'd have known this when offering him the contract in the first place?
