Surely, whether he plays at Bristol or not, what he really needs now is a half season (or even a full one) of proper grown up football. Too ;ate for the Championship, so where? League1? USG or elsewhere abroad? Scotland?

It's the eternal dilemma for players that have reached this level, isn't it. Connolly has nothing new to learn from PL2, so to continue his development he needs a new challenge. It's also very difficult to give him sufficient minutes in the first team. Now that short-term loans are a thing of the past, you'd think a loan out would be on the cards (unless Potter thinks that training with the first team with occasional minutes in the Carabao Cup/PL would serve both the player and the team).
