Regularly go to the Chilli Pickle, Murmur and Fatto Mano, the two in Brighton are the best. Lots of the others I find either too fussy or formal or down right uncomfortable either balancing on barstools or too close to one another.
I go to Cote a lot, not the best food in Brighton, but always consistent and a wide choice if eating with a group. Two missing Semolina, a gem of a place and VIP.

I too like Semolina, but have resorted to no longer mentioning the other one because it's difficult enough to get in there as things stand

Sorry :) the lady knows us so we always seem to be able to get in. Just love the buzz and informality of that place.

Believe. The menu is small but the quality of seafood is tremendous.

I love, and miss, seafood. There’s some good micro pubs in Worthing as well. Maybe we visit Worthing next time we hook up?

Don’t understand why Fatto O Mano is so highly rated. Decent Pizza sure, but amongst the best restaurants in Brighton? Not for me.

Fan of Plateau, 64 degrees and Market.

Baby Bao is a bit of an odd one and I'd have Planet India in that list all day long.

I’ve not eaten there* so cant comment. Why’s it odd?

* I have eaten there but it was late, I was drunk, and ordered the wrong thing. I have not included this.

Running a kitchen in a pub is not the same as running a restaurant imo. Plus it's not that good.

Crab Shack presumably?

Went just before Christmas and really enjoyed it, even as a vegetarian.

Doesn't look like Little Fish Market caters for weirdos like me from what I can see from their website.

This seems the right place to ask. I'm currently in Brighton (Sitting in the White Rabbit as I write) looking for somewhere to open a version of our Costa Rican tropical seafood restaurant specialising in prawns. I'm looking at a place on Duke St, Sydney St and Queens Road. As a Brightonian I'm thinking Queens St and Duke St locations would put off most locals... Am I right/wrong? Just feel like North Laine is the place to be...

Personally speaking, i couldn't give a monkeys where it is, as long as the food's good. I went to Pascere on Dukes Street - good food but v pricey. Not a bad location either.

Have eaten at about half of those.

Would not put Bincho so high - it's great but not exceptional.

From my experience I would rate Isaac At well above The Set and 64 degrees above both of those.

Agree that Little Fish Market is the business and deserves to be top.

One that I enjoyed that misses the cut is The Urchin.
