Agreed it’s good but I wonder how much is staged
All of it.

If it was being done for real, it would be great, but sadly (and obviously) they can't do that. So the camera man just calls base each time some CCTV might have seen them etc. Which makes it all nonsense.

Yes, it must be strange having a camera man with you especially if you do a runner.

Having watched it my first thought was how can they find one person among 60 million then I remembered the camera and sound people running along behind might as well carry a great big sign with OVER HERE written on it

They have radio mics and the cameraman is just a dude with a go pro on his chest

Often thought the best way to hide for three or four weeks would be to throw away my mobile, and become a rough sleeper in central London. They are completely invisible to the vast majority of people.

And another thing I hate is when some nasty busybody front bottom, giving them a lift or a beer in a pub, shops them for a reward of £200.

I've thought this. I've been homeless, proper homeless before. I could evade them, but would it make good telly, eating out of bins, begging (I didn't beg, I busked) and drinking yourself to sleep? I suppose it would but that's a different genre, poverty porn. Maybe there could be a crossover. Send loads of tramps out and the last one tracked down gets a free bedsit and pilloried in the right wing press whilst becoming a z-list celebrity for a fleeting moment.

As someone who's worked away from home for my whole career, I find it almost irritating when these people get emotional about not seeing their families. 6 weeks, max. You're not going to get killed, not in danger, you asked to go on there. Same as BB or any other pish with similar format. Get a grip.

I’ve watched every series and love it, but I agree that it is definitely staged for the following reasons:

1. The fugees always reveal their location at some point by phoning someone or ‘popping home’ - this always plays into the hands of the Hunters, have these people never seen the programme before !

2. The Hunters always drive around in black Volvos, giving the fugees the tip off that they’re onto them - why ??!!

3. When the Hunters pay family a visit and ask to see their laptops, tablets or phones, they just let them and the family members give up information all too easily - i’d tell them to @&#% off !

Yes, addicted to it. But it's on record and I've not seen this weeks episode so not reading this thread.
I'm not sure that all the CCTV, ANPR and phone data can be picked up so quickly though.
The Chief has been on Radio 5Live twice this past week, trying to get a better job somewhere?

Agreed it’s good but I wonder how much is staged. If you have a camera man following you around everywhere you’re gonna stand out too. Also the editing is blatantly done for ‘dramatic effect’ all the time.

True, but done well. Started watching Ed Stafford - First man out on discovery channel last night, great telly in a Bear Gryll's survival type way but geez it had such contrived situations.

Exactly this......lets see the 'fugatives' go to the Falklands for 6 months or The Iraqi Dessert for months on end.......

The celebs on Im a celeb really get up my nose crying after being away 2 days and needing letters and gifts from home.......complete :wanker:
