First of all let me wish you all the best LLF. Seems a few suffering on NSC at the moment that maybe all of us weren't aware of. A speedy recovery and best wishes to all.

Ryan Air are absolute c***s. THE most despicable business ever created. I won't use them for personal travel and kick up a stink if I'm booked on them for business travel. Utter scum. If you think their business mode is justifiable because it makes travel cheap then just ask yourself how qualified and motivated their pilots are.

Fed up with trains. Sick of the rain.
To add to my earlier post, I’m out of hospital, the medics are ‘very confident ‘ they have cut away all the cancer in my throat, mainly my left tonsil

They can’t find any cancer anywhere else, but, have removed my lymph nodes in my neck, a very impressive 8 inch scar, just in case. I’m a bit sore, learning how to swallow again, a bowl of cornflakes took 45 minutes to eat this morning , and very appreciative of the NHS.

Best wishes on your recovery. One can only hope that O'Leary develops Elephantitis of the nuts and Ryanair force him to buy an additional seat on the plane.

I wish you my very best wishes, at least the news is good. I think you may have to abandon that box of Cornflakes and go with porridge !
As for Ryan Air, I have never travelled with them and never will, I have heard horror stories of how they treat their staff and get them to sell as much as poss onboard a flight or else.

All the very best to you.
Thing is that seat will probably have been re sold in a jiffy and now, if it was, they have doubled their money on that seat, it's a win win for Ryan Air, the ********, hate them and I avoid them at all costs.

I was diagnosed with throat cancer on the 5th July, I had a flight on Ryan Air booked for the 29th August. Obviously I won’t be able to fly now, so I phoned Ryan, and their representative said if I filled in the form on the website, provide evidence, I could apply.
This I’ve done after leaving hospital yesterday, and just got the email back refusing the refund as it’s in the terms and conditions that they don’t do refunds. I know Ryan Air is one of the most penny pinching companies out there and I understand that this is how they keep their prices low, but, why even have a refund process if you don’t do refunds. If you need the process for exceptional circumstances is cancer not exceptional enough.

I know if I was that bothered about the money, I should have insured, but, I wouldn’t have expected a refund for nearly anything else, but I would have thought that life threatening illnesses are a special case.

Anyway, just venting my spleen really at Ryan Air, thanks for reading.

Yesterday’s win made me feel a bit better though.

Wishing you a well and speedy recovery. Best wishes from HT.

Michael O'Leary (Ryanair CEO) is notorious for having one of the tightest ar$es on the planet and there are a good many honest folk who would take great retribution in shoving something painful [large] right up there ....

Old story I heard, Michael O'Leary entertaining some business partners in a meeting at a hotel and goes to the bar to order a round of drinks. He orders and the barman says: "Twenty Euros please Mr O'Leary .... oh, and would you be wanting glasses as that will be extra ...."

To the serious side of this thread: LLF hoping for a swift and full recovery ....
Is there not an ombudsman for the travel industry, maybe ABTA could intervene?
If you paid by credit card, might be worth talking to them too?
This would still be funny but for the fact that I never use Starbucks because they charge extra for a cup to put the coffee in!

Wishing you well, and a full recovery fella.

I've never flown Ryanair in my life, so can't join in the verbal kicking - but glad you got your refund.

Get well soon, Ryan Air are Ryan air two years ago they cancelled hundreads of flights due to a shortage of pilots they are now saying they are over staffed by 200 pilots!

The truth is they are offloading UK based employees to ease the employment T&Cs for staff post Brexit
