Leeds - but not the dirty bit
Not all broken legs involve the leg being at an odd angle or bone protruding through the skin!

Really !!!! Thank you for that.

Not sure why you are dreaming up all these random situations when Bristol City have simply said that in effect they will be playing to the whistle. How radical is that ?

Why the **** isn’t the ref stopping the game if a player has a broken leg?! Doesn’t matter what the players do if the ref stops the game, and he’s the only one with power to. It’s really simple.

It's not going to make much difference anyway, is it? A broken leg is going to remain broken whether the physio is on in seconds or after a couple of minutes.

Maybe the solution lies in Aussie No Rules Football. Medics allowed on the pitch while play continues around the stricken player.

The main difference being though, the playing field in that sport is the size of Wiltshire.

That's true, to be fair. Tho love the way that just about anybody with any kind of half-arsed excuse to be on the is pitch gets to be on the pitch in the Aussie No Rules game while the game is in play

It also happens in Rugby.

Like Aussie Rules though, rugby is just out and out chaos anyway. Still think its a bit daft.

If a player is down receiving treatment in football and it obstructs play, especially in the box, then that would be a bit of a nause wouldn't it.

They have about six or seven referees all charging round the field at the same time as well. Its MENTAL.

4th official needs to make a call, you dont just have the physio sprinting on when he likes.

I realise that. It still has the potential for carnage though, nobody knows what area of the field a passage of play could lead to.

So, why today when Zouma was down with an apparent head injury and two Utd players close to him were calling for the game to be stopped did the ref, who was some distance away, waved play on? I only saw it on MOTD so don't know if there was any comments at the time?

Think this is a great idea. They've decided it will be a club policy to play to the whistle and have emailed other clubs to tell them this in advance:

https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-city-written-every-club-3174864

"Bristol City have taken the unusual step of writing to every other club in the Championship to explain that they will not kick the ball out of play, unless a player has suffered a genuine head injury. Head coach Lee Johnson revealed the decision, as he answered questions following the Robins' 3-1 defeat to Leeds United on Sunday."

Would make even more sence in the Premiership with VAR in use
