Why would the sponsor do that? Ensuring their brand is forever associated (among those that have any brand recognition as a result of the sponsorship deal) with the most cringe-worthy costume in history!

Yeah, so they wanted some publicity. But permanent? That's just embarrassing.

I don't think being associated with a terrible costume is bad for the brand, but it's bad for the club IMO. People buying boilers won't care, football fans do.

Indeed, because we care about our club, not because we're worried what affect that would have on Amex.
