Kirtley won't get back in that side unless somebody gets injured or when Rana leaves. He'll tweak his action in the one dayers where Lewry will be mostly rested and then come in for the Championship games later in the season. The good thing is that RMJ and Wright have started the season well with the ball and are picking up the odd wicket but we will need somebody to take the majority of the wickets when our hero from Pakistan leaves.

I'd tell Goodwin to open and grin and bear it. He has said he doesn't want to but Montgomerie cannot go on like this. Or even try one of the youngsters. Or Prior?

Goodwin is the senior batsman, I'd go for Prior and keep Goodwin in place

Agreed, probably is due for a change now
