My dad did the Cyril and Cecil the Seagull cartoons that appeared in the Albion programme in the late 70's. We used to get in for free!!

When Abba won the Eurovision in Brighton, I appeared at the interval with the Wombles. We were filmed driving over the fields behind the windmill at Rottingdean in my Manta Ray beach buggy.

This went to an audience of 500,000,000.

Used to get taught English by Diana Rigg's uncle Arthur. This was when she was at the height of her Avengers Emma Peel fame, and every schoolboy's dream. When we were about fourteen, he took our class to see his niece as Lady MacBeth at the Old Vic, for which we were profoundly grateful, far beyond the call of 'O' Level Eng.Lit. Yes, yes she did. I sneaked into the nets at Sussex as a youngster in 1983 and spent an hour bowling to Graeme Wood and Trevor Chappell who were happy to have a net bowler. They were over for the World Cup that year.
