Brentford boss Wally Downes has abandoned his move for Eastbourne Borough striker Scott Ramsay.

The Bees' chief scout John Griffin told the Brentford, Chiswick & Isleworth Times: "Ramsay has been quoted as saying he is happy in non-league football with Eastbourne, and in the circumstances we have decided to look for a more experienced forward."

The 22-year-old scored over 30 goals for Eastbourne last season as they clinched promotion to the Dr Martens Premier Division.

Shame we'd have kept 2 cleans sheets atleast next year if he'd gone... lol
