I'm a little disppointed to see Everton and Villa face off so soon. Was hoping both would have a bit of a losing streak, but at least one of them will pick up a point or 3.

The massively over promoted managers who were brilliant players derby coming up.

Can’t call this game, despite both spending loads of money in recent years, they’ve both got really average teams as well as crap managers. Expect them both to struggle this season unless they change managers.

With apologies for stepping on Bozza's toes...

Good man - thanks!

I've just woken up, five hours behind you, and the first thing I thought was "Shit - I've not done this week's matches thread!"

Normal service will resume next week!

The NSC coach en route to Villa Park to get Lampard and Gerrard’s autographs has just hit the M40 apparently.

Both these two teams look like they’ve regressed massively in the last season or so, I would argue this Everton line up is absolutely relegation material, there’s really no real quality and Lampard looks out of his depth.

I dislike Gordon.

From the BBC site

Everton's star youngster is so frustrating to watch. He could be Flash Gordon but he's more like Splash Gordon with all that diving!

Where are Everton going to get 20 plus goals from?

Gordon might get a few
DCL is seemingly either injured or returning from injury

Watching from when the fella couldn't kick the ball into the stand - despite aiming for the f**kin stand through to the Everton goal was absolutely woeful.

All players should be embarrassed.
