My friend has an old phone that he wants to transfer pictures from to his computer, but his phone only has Infrared..

What's the best way of doing this?

You might want to specify exactly what this " old phone " is to get some sensible and helpful replies.

If it's a phone with a camera, presumably it has internet access so he can email them or upload wherever he wants.

Any chance the phone has a memory card slot the photos could be transferred to? What’s the make and model?

A usb Infrared dongle can be bought for less than £5 on eBay but you’d need the right software etc

Looking at the specs for that phone and and any pictures on it will be ultra low res pixelated blobs. Easiest way to get them off is pop a working SIM card in and text them to someone.
