Mrs Shingle and I camped out on the Mall along with tens of thousands of people from all over the Uk and World, fantastic atmosphere, however, there was a point during the night somewhere around 3am where I envied Thunder Bolt for being able to rock up to the seating areas outside the Palace at a reasonable hour.

I was told to be in place by 9.15 but gates would be open at 8.30. I got to Green Park at 8am only to find that our queue went out of Green Park, past the Ritz and down/up the cul de sac next to it. It took me over an hour to get in, but that included security etc
At least I managed to doze in a bed, as I didn't sleep particularly well either. I was in front of the tv studio in the top left of your bottom photo about 6 rows down.

Mrs.Punal managed to take in both the silver and golden jubilees in the Mall. For the silver we lived in London so no real problem in attending most of the events. For the golden jubilee we stayed at our daughter’s flat in Bayswater saw all the festivities over three days. The one thing that stood out was being so close to the Gold State coach, with the Queen and Prince Philip on board, when they passed us on the Mall. Escorted by the Household cavalry it was a daunting sight and made me think that any idiot who tried to “have a go” wouldn’t have stood a chance.

Wonderful memories and I was so glad that I was there.
