True the police appeared to be slow to respond in this case

Cruz trotted out his usual line to the slack-jaws in his NRA speech:-

"The only deterent to a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a guy".

Probably shouldn't have written the speech a week ago.
Definitely should have proof red it yesterday.

This was taken inside the NRA meeting currently being held in Houston.

When the second amendment was written a musket shot one bullet and took about 30 seconds to reload.

This really makes a mockery of the idea of having security guards with guns at the scene to solve the problem.

The people who push it know that as well as anyone. But it’s an idea they can use to stall until it’s not in the news anymore and they can safely ignore it.

whilst there will quite rightly be an investigation into the response , as would be the case anywhere after a major incident, it beggars belief that there will , in all probability not be an investigation into why this happened and how to stop it. Already the media have started the blame the police response rather than the actual cause, and the funerals haven't even taken place.

This will simply be added to the list along with the rest and the thoughts and prayers hand wringing brigade will " tut tut" and go on their way saying how wonderful America is whilst arming themselves to the teeth and wondering why the leading cause of death for children is guns

For those that don't look at the whole thread:

Two months ago, they had their most recent school shooter training, which includes this advice:

It's been a great few days for the NRA hasn't it? Turns out, it's not guns that are a problem, it's the police response, yay! And then an armed bystanders takes down a shooter in West Virginia, guns win again! Arguing that if AR-15s weren't freely available then neither situation would come to pass seems pointless, it's all quite depressing.

And, according to an attendee at the NRA conference, it's also down to the breakdown of the American family, untreated mental illness, bullying on social media, violent video games and the inexplicable existence of “evil.”

And, yes it is all quite depressing

What a wonderful coincidence. The first 'good guy' event? He's right you commie!

A tragically accurate summary. Sadly the rest of the world at some point needs to actually shrug it's shoulders say ' whatever' and declare itself all out of ' thoughts and prayers '. They wont help themselves so why should we be bothered and give it column inches. Heartless yes but why beat ourselves up about something that will never change and we can have no influence over.

An odd way to all but ignore all the mass shootings beforehand, but still

Another piece of evidence that would suggest the answer to the original question is
