Leeds and Burnley are threatening legal action against Everton and the Premier League over the handling of the club's finances.

Both clubs wrote to the league last week regarding Everton's most recent accounts which showed losses of £120.9m for the 2020-21 season.

They have posted losses of £372m over the past three years.

League profitability and sustainability rules allow for losses of £105m over a three-year period.

Both Thomas and Gerald bring us all the news from the BBC website we’re not capable of finding for ourselves, H. It’s the way forward.

:amex:

I'm grateful and . . . . something.

£372m vs the legal limit of £105m.

That's not missing the target by a percentage point or two. That's driving a coach and horses through the rulebook.

£372million to be that crap. Christ.

£300 million of that was paid to schoolboys who offered to 'watch your car, mister, see as no vandalism, like, would happen while you're on important football business, like?'

Apparently the Serious Fraud Squad have also been drafted in to investigate the outlandish claims from Everton FC that their manager, Frank Dullard, actually has a personality. No evidence has yet been found to substantiate this claim.

Pretty tacky threatening legal action.

Clearly Everton's spending hasn't made them any good.
Not really any of their business if the Premier League aren't doing anything about it,

Has the PL ever deducted points for financial breach of rules? Seems ridiculous to have rules and not enforce them while the majority of clubs work to the set guidelines.
I'm sure Everton aren't the only club to overspend.

Odds against any meaningful sanctions being appllied to Everton? Anybody?

Few thousand quid fine, I reckon. Chances of a points deduction? About the same as Putin winning Eurovision....................

I simply can’t and won’t believe this. Everton have such an honest owner. It can’t be true!

That said, it surely won’t help Dirty Leeds or Burnley. I’d imagine any punishment would roll over to next year.

Yep it’s desperate. And they won’t win.
