St David's day next week and I've just set a record of tonight's BBC4 tribute to Welsh music. I'm recording it so that I can wind through all of the turd as I did with their tribute to Irish music and to Australian music. I'm also starting a thread here as I did for the Aussies and the Irish. In both previous cases NSC came up with a far more varied, interesting and enjoyable list than the Beeb managed. I'm sure they'll do Bassey and Tom Jones with Cerys Matthews, what can NSC suggest?

I'll start obvious with Cardiff's Dave Edmunds. (Nick Lowe on bass too. You've got to love 1979)

It's unfortunate for the other band members that the lead singer was imprisoned as a paedophile, otherwise the list could include "lost phophets".
