Saw him about 4 years ago at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
He was absolutely brilliant. Funny, dry wit and great music.

Saw Procol Harum at The Dome, during the 'Exotic birds and fruit' tour. Robin Trower was the guitarist. They were pretty good.

Of those I saw: Procul Harem, Argent, Groundhogs, Genesis (Selling England tour) and Steve Hillage. I had no interest in any of the others, apart from Bowie and Doctors of M.
Other ones to add are: Roxy Music (with Eno), Nils Lofgren/Tom Petty (that was a cracking gig), Dory Previn (that wasn't) and Graham Parker & the Rumour. I'm sure there are some I've forgotten
