He played 237 games for the Albion. My most memorable time was when we won the 4th division title 64/65.

One of the nicest people I've met in pro football, a superb raconteur, I took him for lunch in Broadwater at 1pm, and Mrs H texted me at 3.30 to enquire if I was coming back to work?

Its my honour now to be looking after him on his final journey.

RIP Steve

Yet another childhood hero has passed. RIP
He hardly played in that 64-65 promotion season, because by that time the halfback line of Bertolini-Jennings-Burtenshaw had morphed into Bertolini-Gall-Turner

R.I.P. Steve.

I still have your autugraph dating back to the early 1970's from your time as a coach at Arsenal, signed for me at their London Colney training ground.

Bertolini, Jennings and Burtenshaw a great half back line in the late 50's and early 60's

Was just going to say exactly the same thing (although not sure Roy Jennings could be considered a half back?) ... great memories of those years. It was so good being an Albion supporter.

RIP Steve.

Yes, always a bit of an oddity. Two full backs and three half backs, including the centre half. Interesting that we play them the other way round these days.
