Before my time but I know he was a great hero to many Albion fans. In recent years he was an important member of the Sporting Memories group meeting at Worthing FC.

My 1st season too, remember him well, a great and loyal servant of BHAFC. RIP Steve

One of the nicest people I've met in pro football, a superb raconteur, I took him for lunch in Broadwater at 1pm, and Mrs H texted me at 3.30 to enquire if I was coming back to work?

Its my honour now to be looking after him on his final journey.

Yet another childhood hero has passed. RIP
He hardly played in that 64-65 promotion season, because by that time the halfback line of Bertolini-Jennings-Burtenshaw had morphed into Bertolini-Gall-Turner

Same here but in 1962. Proper old school. Stuff of legend. A good football career on and off the pitch. RIP SB.

Likewise. I can't be absolutely sure he was playing as I haven't got a programme, but I'm pretty sure he was. November 8 v Bristol Rovers.

Yes, always a bit of an oddity. Two full backs and three half backs, including the centre half. Interesting that we play them the other way round these days.
