six feet beneath the moon...
charged with failing to control their players for their antics after the Dunk yellow that was turned to a red.

absolutely despise the way big teams, especially united, surround the ref to put him under pressure to make the call they want, especially when you have a p** weak referee like we did last night. yes, every team does it, but, as shown by the charge, united take it to an entirely new level of twattishness, especially that little rat fernandes.

glad to see the charge, but sure it will do absolutely nothing to change the behaviour

The bottom line is that is worked perfectly. Manure players are perfectly aware of what influence they can exert, especially with Kevin Bloody Friend at the helm of VAR last night.

They won’t be bothered one bit.

Won't lose points, only get fined... so why would a club like Utd NOT do this. Spend £50k to get an opponent sent off? Absolute f**king bargain.

Utterly pointless action by the FA. Either the Ref books all the players crowding him except the Captains... or the FA over turn a result or dock points. The Refs don't have the backbone and the FA certainly don't (or indeed even have the power?) so waste of everyone's time.

Unless they dock points then it won't change a thing. Meaningless fines or a slap on the wrist is the most that will happen.

Jarred Gillett was on VAR last night with Eddie Smart his assistant. Kevin Friend was Fourth Official.

Good news that the FA have acknowledged the behaviour of their players was out of order, Maguire in particular.

The ref bottled it by not taking any action at the time; a little motion towards his back pocket would've been enough to put an end to it but he just stood there and took it.

However, they'll get a fine equal to three hours of Ronaldo's wages and just shrug it off, so it's a pretty pointless exercise.

He did show yellow to Fernandes during those protests.

Not just this incident but something must be done about players going towards ref. Saw Ronaldo waving his finger at a ref. Why cant it be like rugby and left to captain

The problem is that the refs are too weak.

There have been initiatives to try to stop this behaviour such as free kicks advanced 10 metres if there is any dissent as in Rugby, but the refs bottled it and stopped doing it.

If they really want to stop this behaviour, you are right. Yellow to every one of the players around the ref except the captain.
If they do it again in the match, second yellow and a red.
Also, if a player goes down and rolls around hurt, and gets treatment, he goes off to recover for 10 minutes.
(Unless as a result of a foul).
Feigning injury such as clutching their face when the contact was nowhere near that, 10 minutes sin bin.
And a week training with a Rugby team to find out what contact really means!

If we get VAR intruding into the game, as happened last night, when it was not 100% clear error, then why not use the citing process as is used in Rugby where a team can cite a player for foul play which the ref missed and it's reviewed and can sometimes result in several weeks ban?

Will never happen though.

Rant over :)

It makes you wonder if VAR intervened due to the reaction of the United players though. ???

well of course it did. it gave the ref an option to change his mind, despite there not being a clear and obvious error.

It's because Rugby is a game for hooligans played by gentlemen whereas Football is a game for gentlemen played by hooligans :lolol:
