That's odd. Mine was LGW - Girona in 1972. I recently moved and found the ticket!!!! Boeing 707. British Airtours.

Gatwick to Edinburgh, probably 1986. In those days there was no security checks of any sort for domestic flights.

707. South African Airways. 1966. Heathrow to Jan Smutts Airport, Johannesburg
August 78 on a DanAir Comet to Malaga, on a two week family holiday to Fuengirola.
We were allowed into the cockpit to say hello and look around, in those days there was an additional flight engineer down the side.

Gatwick to Mahon, 1994, AirTours
Vancouver to London, 1972. I was five.
We flew so my parents could look into coming back to the UK, after living in Canada for 7 years.
After a few week’s recce, we flew back to Canada, and then the next summer flew back for good.
I don’t really remember those flights, though I do remember being told we would need to land in Iceland on the way to refuel, as in those days it was too far for a non-stop flight.
Iceland seemed incredibly exciting to a 5/6 year old, like it would be full of polar bears and eskimos, and for a few years afterwards I shamelessly used to claim to have “visited Iceland” if kids were ever doing a “where have you been” tally in the playground.
