To be fair, there are thousands of threads, dozens of which are active at any one time, many of which are about football, pastimes, food, pubs, telly, music, photography, history, geography, and other good natured topics with very friendly posts. I suppose it all depends what one goes looking for.

But I do agree, it's frustrating when a thread is interesting and the usual four or five come on and trash it.
