Steven Alzate and Pascal Gross set a brisk tempo in midfield for the home side and Chelsea struggled with Brighton’s frenetic pressing,

I enjoyed reading that SO much. Both players are often on the end of unjustified criticism but Alzate completed his 1st 90 mins in months next to Groß, a RM playing in DM in a midfield that had almost no experience playing together in those roles vs. Kante (world renowned for being the best in his role) and Jorginho (recently voted in the top 5 best players in the world) and not only held their own, but dictated the game. Absolutely superb.
FWIW, I agree with Shearer. It is the best time to be a Brighton fan and it may well only get better. Bloom, Barber, Ashworth, Potter et al deserve every plaudit for creating something really special
