I really hesitate to post this on NSC.

Watching Coldplay Live in 2006 in Toronto and along with a number of other live concerts I’ve seen of theirs I am going to put my neck on the line and suggest that they are the World’s best live band at the moment. Every concert is brilliant

Now where is my tin hat? :lolol:

I think that they are possibly NSC’s most hated band

Very late edit (3 pages in!) I am talking about bands who are still around and touring now

Worthing
I can only speak of the bands I’ve actually seen live, as in being there.

Although I’m not a huge fan of their music, Queen ( with Freddie) out on a good show. The Boss was pretty special, I’m a fan so, probably a bit bias, more recently, say the last 5 years, the Waterboys, seen them twice, really good both times.

A special mention for the original Pink Floyd The Wall shows at Earls Court. I think that was the most ambitious show I had ever seen, for the time.

I saw Coldplay at Brixton Academy in 2001 - last gig of the UK Parachutes tour

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuQ1vdoUhGw

It was alright ... but for years now I can't bear to listen to them!

Over the last couple of years I've had a number of gigs cancelled ... like everyone has ... but have seen Steve Hackett 4 times in that period ... each one amazing.

But over the last 44 and a bit years - it's Weller all the way for me!

I might try and get a ticket for Gregory Porter - someone I've not seen before but would like to. Love his voice ...

How soon is now?
Because of my job I get to lots of gigs, and this is totally taste driven.
Might not be the best gig, but I went to see Placebo at the Ctr a couple of years ago and was blown away by them. The music isn’t really my thing, and I rarely stay to the end of shows but they were excellent. As the last song finished and punters started to file out, this heartbeat came over the PA and it was obvious there was more. People turned around and reappeared, and within 60 seconds the room was full again for the encore

Was a huge music fan, but not now - although I have seen the Pixies live a couple of times relatively recently.

In terms of right time, right place and blew me away:

Nirvana.

Whenever they are in town

The Pixies

Not a huge fan, but always worth the money:

Manics

Happened to be there and hated their music, but hats off to their live performance

Lightning Seeds
Beautiful South

Lastly, get me the **** our of here now

Early days of Suede. Loved their records, terrible live.
U2 - Early Coldplay crowd, "merch" and cigarette lighters
New Order - shocking

Fontaines DC, Shame and Black Midi have been my favourite this year. I think in terms of new bands I’ve seen recently, Lazarus Kane, Tiña, The Lounge Society and Do Nothing have been really good.

Brighton factually.....
One of my favourite live psychobilly bands is batmobile from Holland.
This was at Hamburg, and I’m wrecking in the video, can you spot me ?
As long as “you” enjoy yourself that’s the main thing, it’s your thing, go for it.

My Favourite of all time live are the stingrays - absolutely mad crazy gigs
Also the second band the Tallboys were awesome live
The third band Billy Childish’s Milkshakes another great band in their day.

first band introduced on this early channel 4 programme.
Famous artist going mental down the front, anyone guess who ?

Such a subjective topic, everything’s great in the right mood
