I'm in the process of moving house.

I assume we all have said draw.

Am I right in thinking the correct procedure is to attempt to declutter the entire house, but that draw remains sacrosanct?

It's contents gets tipped straight into a box.
Then tipped into a similar positioned draw in the new kitchen.

Yes I am bored and yes all other tenses of that word also apply.

Definitely a thread for the fan club

Yes have the kitchen drawer of chaos - unfortunately also have the loft and garage of chaos too!

All things I've been trying to get round to sorting out for about 5 years yet even during the first lockdown and furlough I still didn't manage to get to!

No garage but the Loft of Doom was emptied into a 6 yard skip.
I'd say 90% of the contents was put up there when we moved in some 15 years ago.

The garden - after actual work was done too it - took a further 2 smaller skips.

Dump runs I'm into double figures.

But the kitchen draw remains untouched.

missing takeaway menus, string, misc wrapping paraphernalia, and i can see the bottom of the draw. yes a direct transfer is appropriate, all essential items otherwise you'd have thrown away right?

There is not one but two, Turner's Pies reheating instructions.
There'll always be a takeaway menu on the door mat.
Wrapping paraphernalia ALL got thrown out after it's use last month.

String - I can never find string.
I'm even less of a man than you imagined.

You have misspelt that word FOUR times Stat. Really not good enough.

I just can't believe that anyone still calls a drawer a " Draw "?

Having sat down to draw and design a new kitchen, we had a new one built with multiple drawers

we lost on old 50's free standing CUPBOARD in the process which contained a large box full of random tat, nokia bricks, ever ready bike lights, half eaten packets of smash and some shreddies shrinky dink key rings.

One of the new drawers is currently organised with assorted stuff. I'll give it 6 months before it overflows.
