we used to park by the station, for post work evening games, a swift one or three and wander down the lane. .

I would drive over early and park near the ground, then use the free bus ticket to go into town, meet my mates and then get the bus back for match. It meant I was often home in Worthing before some of my mates had made it back to Brighton station.

Only once did an officious number 5 driver insist I couldn't use the ticket.

The Amex is wonderful but there were some upsides to Withdean.
